Patterns Wedding | Brighton Wedding Photographer

I arranged a styled shoot at the beginning of 2021 as I felt like I needed to be creative again after a year of not shooting any weddings due to covid. I based the theme around the couple so it felt like it could have been their real wedding. The grooms where a real LGBTQ+ couple, Brandon and Ryan from London, I felt it was important to use a real couple so the photos didn't feel fake or forced. I decided on the theme 'Drunk in Love' as a lot of their time together is spent partying and having fun so I thought it suited their relationship really well.

I chose a lot of local suppliers to help me bring this shoot together. Tania from Hire Societies helped me plan the day and got our photos published on Dancing With Them which was amazing! Gemma from Bloominati Florals created some amazing floral pieces using colours like burgundy and green to match the theme.

I chose their suits based on a photo I had seen of them wearing velvet jackets, they looked super dapper. Country Master Tailor provided us with beautiful velvet suit jackets and bow ties to go with them, they were exactly what I wanted for this shoot. For the cake I contacted Zara from Bubba's Bakes as she had recently posted a photo of a cake she made that I thought would look perfect for the shoot. I gave her a rough brief and she used her creativity to make a beautiful black and gold wedding cake and matching iced biscuits as wedding favours.

I found a great stationer, Lorna Boyer Design, who worked to my brief to create wedding stationery like invites, table numbers, place names, drinks list etc. We kept to the black and gold theme, we wanted the wedding to look modern and sleek. We chose a bit of a different wedding venue as it fitted so well with the theme, Patterns is a club in the heart of Brighton opposite the pier, people may not realise this is even a wedding venue but it's great as it's so different and fun.

To Have and to Hire Weddings provided all of the amazing props and decor including the rustic table with wheels, the burgundy Chesterfield sofa and the black chairs. Place Settings Event Hire provided us with gorgeous grey plates, champagne flutes and green coloured tumbler glasses.

A huge thank you to all of the suppliers for making my vision come to life and thank you Amber from Amber Rose Morgan Films for creating an amazing highlight film of the day and for interviewing the couple to bring real emotion to the video.
