NATURAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY FOR LAID BACK COUPLES IN SUSSEX + THE SOUTH EAST

My laid back approach to wedding photography

My style is natural which means I document the day as it happens. I blend in with the guests so I'm able to capture lots of candid moments. I want you to have the best day ever so I'm not going to make you waste an hour of your special day taking couple shots, I'll take you off for 15 minutes and then it's straight back to having fun with your guests, eating canapés and drinking champagne! Don't worry if you don't like having your photo taken, it's not as scary as you think. We will just walk around the venue, stop off at a few nice spots and then head back, easy!

My favourite weddings

My favourite kind of weddings include rustic barns, dogs, fun, DIY decor, personal touches, magicians, live music, garden games, confetti, and most importantly good vibes.

Are we the right fit?

If you're planning a fun wedding day, you don't mind getting your dress a bit dirty, and your wedding is personal to you then I think we'd be a great fit! To get a better idea of how I work take a look through my portfolio.

"She instantly put us at ease by being kind, friendly & so encouraging. We both dread having our photo taken but Phoebe really specialises in natural, candid photos which instantly made us feel relaxed."

Behind the camera.

I'm Phoebe, a Shoreham-by-Sea based wedding photographer specialising in natural, documentary photography. I cover the South East UK including Sussex, Kent, and Surrey. I grew up in London but now live by the beach with my husband Joe and our dachshund Woody. We love the quiet life, going for walks along the river, getting hot chocolates from our local coffee shop, and hanging out at the beach.

Behind the scenes.

Here is a short behind the scenes video of an elopement I shot in Brighton which shows my relaxed approach to wedding photography.

Video by Amber Rose Morgan Films.

"She was such a calm and relaxing presence on the day and made us both feel very comfortable. We didn't have to do any staged/posed photos, it was all very natural and fun!"

Frequently asked questions

What areas do you cover?

I mainly cover the South East of England including Sussex, Kent, London and Surrey but I'm happy to travel anywhere in the UK.

What is candid photography?

Basically it just means I don't like posing or staging moments, I prefer to capture the day as it happens naturally. This style means your gallery will be a true representation of your day, not just lots of posed shots.

Do you do formal group photos?

Absolutely! I always allow time for formal family photos but I encourage you to keep your list as short as possible so you're not taking up too much of your drinks reception doing them.

What equipment do you use?

I use Sony cameras which allow me to shoot to two memory cards, this acts as an immediate back up for your images. I have 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 24-70mm and 135mm lenses. Godox flashes.

How long have you been doing photography?

I started photography in college but I started wedding photography when I moved to Sussex in 2019. I've now photographed over 100 weddings.

How many photos do we get?

There's no upper limit but a full day will be 400+ photos.

When do we receive our photos?

I have a turn around time of 4-6 weeks. During peak wedding season this may increase slightly.

Do you offer prints or albums?

I do, prints can be ordered through your online gallery and albums can be ordered through me as I will handle the design process for you.

Do we need a second photographer?

A second shooter will be needed if both partners want getting ready photos, if you've got over 80+ day guests or if you have a long list of group shots. You can also have one if you just want more angles and more photos.

Client Reviews

I highly recommend Phoebe as your wedding photographer. She's super professional, communicative, efficient and she takes the most beautiful candid photos that suit the vibe of your day. We've got memories to cherish forever now and I'll always be grateful to her for capturing our day exactly how we envisioned it! During the day Phoebe came up to us with a little surprise as well (I won't ruin it for others wanting to hire her) but it was so appreciated and truly made us smile. Phoebe took a beautiful mixture of photos of the venue, the atmosphere, our friends and family and of my husband and I that I can't stop looking at!!

Thank you, Phoebe!
