Grittenham Barn Wedding Venue

Grittenham Barn is a countryside wedding venue in Petworth, West Sussex. The barn leads out to a large courtyard, they have lovely gardens, an orchard and a lake. It's also a working family farm so they have animals around the venue including donkeys, pigs and ducks, you can even pet the donkeys. It's the perfect venue for a relaxed, country style wedding.

Getting Ready

The venue has a few areas that you can use to get ready on site in the courtyard. They are small rooms so only ideal for a few people in each room. They are ideal to finish off getting ready in so you're already on site to reduce the stress of travelling before the ceremony.

Ceremonies

Grittenham Barn is licensed to hold civil ceremonies inside the barn and outside in the walled garden. The barn is split into two areas, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. The walled garden is a beautiful setting for a ceremony surrounded by trees. The venue only allow real petal confetti as there are animals.

Drinks Reception

Your drinks reception will be held in the courtyard where there is outdoor seating and plenty of space for garden games if you want some fun entertainment. You're able to bring in food trucks, a mobile bar or ice cream van into the courtyard. If you're worried about the weather they have a marquee you can hire to go on the grass area next to the courtyard which can be used for the drinks reception.

Wedding Breakfast

Your wedding breakfast will be held inside the main barn which can seat up to 120 guests. The chairs and tables are included in the hire price. You can decorate the barn however you like, they only hold one wedding a weekend so you have time to set up on Friday and pack away on Sunday. The venue have some recommended caterers but they allow you to use the caterers of your choice.

Photo Locations

Grittenham Barn has 7 acres of beautiful grounds so you are spoilt for choice with locations for your couple photos. There's an orchard, fields, a greenhouse and a lake which make great backdrops.

Evening Reception

After your wedding breakfast and speeches your guests will head out into the courtyard whilst the staff turn around the main barn ready for your evening reception. You can have a DJ or band set up at one end of the barn where the dance floor is ready for your first dance. There is a bar inside the main barn where the ceremony space is. You can have a food truck in the courtyard if you want something fun for your evening food like pizza or crepes.
