It can be hard to know how to keep your guests entertained during your wedding, it's usually a long day and there will be a few gaps where not much is going on. Most people will be happy enough just having a chat and a drink but if you feel like having some entertainment would make the day more enjoyable then here's some ideas for you.
Ceremony
Let's start with the ceremony; there's no need for entertainment during this time as the focus is on the couple but you could have a live singer or musician for the aisle walks. I think it adds an extra level of intimacy and makes the moment really special.
Drinks Reception
The main time when having entertainment can be a great addition to the day is during the drinks reception which is usually a couple of hours long. Canapés and fizz are usually served during this time but why not make it more fun with some games?
Mini golf Magician

Wedding Breakfast
Next is the wedding breakfast and speeches. Usually no entertainment is needed for this part of the day as everyone is busy eating but it might be a good idea to get activity packs for the children. A wedding I photographed had a quiz during their wedding breakfast which I thought was a great idea. They had a DJ who lead the quiz, guests played on an online site where they could put their answers, they had prizes given out to the top three teams at the end. I've seen couples create wedding bingo cards for their guests to check off through the speeches which can be fun. If you want to get the party started early then you could have singing waiters, this is always a laugh and gets everyone up and singing!

Evening Reception
Finally we're at the best part of the night; the party. Now most people will have a DJ or a band which will get the party started, I think live singers are great because they can interact with the guests and create a lively atmosphere. The best band I've seen do this are called Tux Fizz, they got on the dance floor, danced with guests and encouraged guests to sing. You could have glow sticks and props for the dance floor. If you can't have loud music then a silent disco could be the way to go. Other things you could have for the evening include fireworks, a photo booth, magic mirror, sparklers or board games.
I hope this has given you some ideas to get started on your wedding planning! If you need a wedding photographer please get in touch.
