In this list I have included wedding venues in Worthing and other areas in Sussex. Whether you're looking for a rustic barn, an elegant Manor House, an outdoor tipi venue or something unique, Sussex has it all! A lot of the venues have amazing views of the South Downs so if you want a venue with a beautiful backdrop for your photos then this is the place to be.

Cissbury Barns
Cissbury Barns is a lovely, rustic wedding venue in Worthing. They have two barns, one for your ceremony and one for your reception, a walled garden for your drinks reception, an outdoor bar, a stretch tent for under cover seating and also an outdoor ceremony area overlooking the fields. It has the capacity for 60-120 guests.

Field Place Manor House & Barns
Field Place Manor House and Barns is a wedding venue in Worthing close to Durrington train station. They have a Grade II listed Manor House, two stone barns and beautiful gardens. You can have your ceremony in the Manor House (up to 95 guests), The Pavilion Barn (up to 150 guests) or the outdoor bandstand within the gardens (up to 150 guests). The Sussex Barn has space for 122 seated guests or 200 standing for the reception.

Long Furlong Barn
Long Furlong Barn is a modern, rustic wedding venue near Worthing. It's licensed for indoor and outdoor ceremonies, the outdoor oak ceremony arch has stunning views of the South Downs. The Granary is a large barn with high ceilings which can seat up to 130 guests. They are surrounded by countryside so the grounds are amazing for photos!

Southlands Barn
Southlands Barn is set on 120 acres of farmland in Pulborough. It has views of the South Downs and a lake. They have two barns and an outdoor pergola, all licensed for wedding ceremonies. It's a stunning, rustic venue with the capacity for 150 guests. The staff are amazing here too which makes a big difference.

Hendall Manor Barns
Hendall Manor Barns is in Uckfield, it's the perfect venue for smaller weddings. It has a beautiful stone wall interior with large windows letting in lots of natural light and a large outdoor terrace and lawn. They have lots of parking and a cottage available for the bride to get ready in and also for the couple to stay over the night.

Farbridge
Farbridge is a luxury barn venue in West Dean. It's nestled in the South Downs providing stunning views of the rolling fields. There's a garden, a courtyard, lots of accommodation, a room for wedding ceremonies, and the main barn for your wedding breakfast and reception with underfloor heating and seating for up to 150 guests.

Upwaltham Barns
Upwaltham Barns is a family run venue based near Chichester. They have two large barns, a courtyard, a bar, outdoor seating, a bridal suite and stunning countryside surroundings which is great for couple photos. The barns have great natural light from the large windows. It's a good mix between rustic and modern.

Montague Farm
Montague Farm is a family run farm in East Sussex with three beautiful indoor areas. Pig Palace: a glass fronted cobbled barn which seats 100 guests for civil ceremonies. Big Barn: this barn is for the reception and party and seats up to 200 guests. The Watering Shed: a cool cocktail bar and hang out area. The venue also offers glamping accommodation.

Brookfield Barn
Brookfield Barn is a lovely venue in Horsham which has been recently renovated. They have amazing venues from the venue overlooking the lake and fields. They have an outdoor ceremony area overlooking the lake or you can use the barn in colder months. They have a nice getting ready room and lots of accommodation for guests.

Southend Barns
Southend Barns is an amazing venue near Chichester. You get exclusive use of the venue including two options for your ceremony, the dairy barn (inside) and the secret garden (outside), the threshing barn for your reception, the bridal suite for getting ready, the Shepards hut accommodation and the gardens.

The Secret Barn
The Secret Barn is a real barn on a real farm in Stenying. It's a blank canvas ideal for laid back weddings. The barn seats up to 110 guests, the lawn is perfect for the drinks reception and roasting marshmallows in the evening, here's also a paddock for camping for up to 40 people.

Pangdean Old Barn
Pangdean is a beautiful space 5 miles north of Brighton with a large barn and lots of outdoor space. You can have your ceremony indoors or outdoors. The old barn is romantically lit by fairy lights and has space for up to 190 guests. The garden is the perfect space for your drinks reception and games in the summer.

Architectural Plants
Architectural Plants is a huge 32 acre plant nursery in Pulborough, West Sussex. It's the perfect space for couples who love plants and want a unique wedding venue. The nursery is made up of 11 polytunnels which are surrounded by open fields and farmland with views of the South Downs.

Sullington Manor Farm
Sullington Tithe Barn is the perfect venue for a relaxed, DIY wedding. They only host 6 weddings a year so you know you're going to be looked after. They give you access to the venue from Thursday to Monday which gives you plenty of time to set up and take down. You also have exclusive use of the on site accommodation from Friday - Sunday. For weddings of 90-150 people.

Chiddinglye Estate
Chiddinglye Estate is located near Ardingly. The estate has different areas you can use for your wedding including the lawns for your drinks reception, Patrick's Barn for your wedding breakfast and the tap room for your evening reception.

The Cherry Barn
The Cherry Barn is located on a 400 acre working farm in Rye. With its backdrop of orchards and farmland, is a stunning location for a rural wedding. The barn is stunning and filled with lots of natural light. The venue has a getting ready room, a bar, a gazebo for outdoor ceremonies, an orchard, and lots of land which can be used for parking or glamping.

Woodmancote Place
Woodmancote Place is a private house in Small Dole with 150 acres of land including a deer park and lake. This isn't a licensed venue so you would need to have a celebrant led ceremony. You can have a marquee or sailcloth tent set up on the lawns. It best suited to non-traditional, laid back weddings.

Iford Hall
Iford Hall is a family owned village hall in Lewes with a good amount of outdoor space. It's perfect for DIY weddings and celebrant led ceremonies. The hall can be used for your wedding breakfast or you could hire a marquee for the garden. It's a lovely space for a relaxed wedding.

Bartholomew Barn
Bartholomew Barn is in Billingshurst. The barn is licensed for wedding ceremonies and can seat up to 120 guests. You can use the front lawn for your drinks reception, garden games, a bouncy castle or for putting up a marquee. The woods behind the venue are a great location for couple photos.

Yoghurt Rooms
Yoghurt Rooms is a family run farm in East Grinstead. The oak framed barn is a blank canvas for you to decorate, perfect for DIY weddings. The barn and the outdoor bandstand are licensed for wedding ceremonies. It has the capacity for 150 guests. They also have lots of overnight accommodation and unlimited space for camping.

Weald and Downland Museum
Weald and Downland Living Museum is a truly unique venue in Chichester. The architectural design of the Downland Gridshell is breathtaking, this space seats up to 180 guests and is surrounded by woodland. It is only available for a limited number of dates a year.

Firle Place
Firle Place is a country estate in Lewes. They have five different spaces on offer to cater for different types of weddings. The Georgian Riding School is the most popular for weddings, it is a large space with the capacity for 250 guests, it's a beautiful space with an oak beam ceiling. You can use the croquet lawns by the lake for your drinks reception.

The Gooseberry House is a victorian glasshouse in Spring Gardens Nursery in Pulborough. It's a stunning venue, a modern greenhouse full of pretty plants. Best suited to wedding receptions as they don't have a license for legal ceremonies.

Bury Manor Barn
Bury Manor Barn is a Tudor barn located in the rural village of Bury in West Sussex. The inner barn is licensed for wedding ceremonies and the outer barn is ideal for wedding breakfasts and seats 150 guests. The venue has amazing grounds with a pond, woodland, a walled garden, an amphitheatre and a view of the South Downs.

Two Woods Estate is a woodland wedding venue in Pulborough. The ceremony area is amongst tall redwood trees creating a magical space. The barn can accommodate 100 guests for your wedding breakfast. They have the secret meadow available for camping so your guests can stay over.

Haylands Farn is a new family run barn in Petworth. They have a large flint barn and amazing views of the South Downs. The barn is a blank canvas for you to create your perfect wedding space. The capacity of the barn is 150 guests. They give you access to the venue 2 days before the wedding giving you time to set up.

Bignor Park
Bignor Park is a rural, elegant venue in Pulborough. They have lots of different spaces making it a really versatile venue. The Greek Loggia is an outdoor stone porch which is licensed for wedding ceremonies. The south lawn in front of the house is perfect for your drinks reception and the stables are great for your reception. They also have a croquet lawn where you can have a marquee or tipi.

Knepp Estate
Knepp Estate is a beautiful park in Horsham where you can have an outdoor marquee or tipi wedding. They also have a small indoor space, The Granary, which can seat up to 36 guests. This is the perfect venue for nature lovers.

South Stoke Barn
South Stoke Barn is a Granary Barn two miles from Arundel. It's a charming venue surrounded by beautiful countryside. The barn is bright and clean inside with white walls and a timber ceiling, it can seat up to 120 guests. On the ground floor there is an open fronted reception area that leads out on to the lawns with outdoor seating. They only hold one wedding a week and give you access to the venue from Thursday.

Highley Manor
Highley Manor is a Manor House near Haywards Heath with views across the countryside. There is an inside and outside option for your ceremony, the Baronial Hall and the Pavilion, both can seat up to 86 guests. The Pavilion is a stunning wooden beam structure with views of the Sussex Downs behind it. The Ballroom is for your reception. They do weddings every day so the turn around between them is short.

Pelham House
Pelam House is an elegant town house venue in Lewes. The venue has beautiful, clean decor. You can have your ceremony indoors or outdoors. They have a large reception room which can seat 150 guests. They have a large bridal suite for getting ready and they have other rooms for guests to stay over. There is no parking at the venue but Lewes station is a short walk away.

Cowdray Estate
Cowdray Estate has two wedding venues: Cowdray House and The Walled Garden. Inside the house is Buck Hall, an incredible space with a vaulted ceiling which seats 150 for wedding breakfast, it's also licensed for ceremonies. The private gardens are a charming setting for a wedding, it's licensed for wedding ceremonies under the wooden pergola.

Michelham Priory
Michelham Priory is a large barn on a private moated island surrounded by beautiful countryside. There are two stunning locations to get married – the Prior’s Chamber (seats 60 guests) inside the Grade II Listed historic house or the Elizabethan Great Barn (seats 120 guests), which overlooks Sussex countryside.

Gildredge Manor is a Georgian Manor House in Eastbourne within Gildredge Park. The Garden Room and the Long Gallery are both licensed for wedding ceremonies. This venue has the capacity for 100 day guests and 150 evening guests. They have a beautiful garden providing outdoor space.

The Ravenswood
The Ravenswood is a 15th century Manor House in Sharpthorne in the heart of the Ashdown Forest. They have a charming little castle outside where you can have your ceremony of up to 150 people or inside you have the choice of two rooms; the jacobean suite or the old baronial hall. They have a stunning reception room with a wooden ceiling and large windows overlooking the grounds. They have 34 bedrooms available for guests.

Grittenham Barn is a family run venue in Petworth. The barn is set within the gardens which has a lake, orchard and woodland. They have donkeys, pigs and ducks at the farm. The barn and parts of the grounds are licensed for wedding ceremonies. The barn seats up to 120 guests. They only have one wedding a weekend giving you plenty of time to set up and take down.

They have two rooms licensed for wedding ceremonies; The Main Barn which can seat 120 guests and The Long Room which can seat 75 guests. The barn leads out onto a large courtyard perfect for your drinks reception. They give you access to the venue to day before and the day after your wedding so you're not rushed setting up and clearing away.
